New polls show Republicans lead in Congressional races
Another round of polling from "Talk Business and Politics" was released Thursday. This time sampling all 4 of Arkansas' U.S. Congressional races. The results show comfortable Republican leads in three of the races, while one remains a toss-up.
In the 1st District, 450 were surveyed. Republican Congressman Rick Crawford garnered 47.5% of the responses, followed by Democrat Mayor Jackie McPherson with 33%, Libertarian Brian Scott Willhite with 3%, and 16.5% undecided. The poll has a margin of error of + or - 4.6%.
In the 2nd District, 483 were surveyed, and Republican French Hill led Democrat Patrick Henry Hays 44% to 43%. Libertarian Debbie Standiford got 3%, and 10% are still undecided. The poll's margin of error is + or - 4.5%
In the 3rd District, 408 were surveyed, and Republican Congressman Steve Womack received 57% to 20% for Libertarian Grant Brand, with 23% undecided. This poll's margin of error was + or - 4.9%
In the 4th District, 439 were surveyed, and Republican State Representative Bruce Westerman got 48%, with 34% for Democrat James Lee Witt, 3% for Libertarian Ken Hamilton, and 15% undecided. The poll's margin of error is + or - 4.7%.
