LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - A 24-year-old is dead and Little Rock police are looking for his killer who is still on the loose.
It's been less than 24-hours and authorities still trying to put the pieces together and that's where the suspect's brother comes in.
The shooting happened around 8:30 Monday night on 31st and Cross streets in Little Rock. Police say the original altercation was between the victim, 24-year-old Jermaine Humphrey, and another person.
After that argument ended the suspect, 20-year-old Rodterius Gardner, made some comments to the victim. Police say that's possibly when Gardner turned around and killed Humphrey.
Paramedics found him in a pool of blood just a few yards away from his home. He had a gunshot wound to his head.
At this point in the investigation police are trying to get a hold of Gardner but they say his brother will be key in the investigation.
"He's more of a critical key witness. He witnessed the incident and may have a valuable information that could clear up some unknown questions," said Lt. Sidney Allen, spokesperson for LRPD. "He did commit the crime with a weapon so we have reason to believe that he is still in the possession of that firearm."
