Okla. man pleads guilty to role in Ark. death
TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - An Oklahoma man has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in the death of a man whose body was dumped at an Arkansas speedway.
The Texarkana Gazette reports that 48-year-old Leslie Larcade of Broken Bow pleaded guilty in federal court in Texarkana Friday to conspiracy to commit kidnapping as part of a plea deal in which a charge of kidnapping resulting in death was dropped.
Larcade and his wife, Crystal Larcade, were charged in January 2012 for the Aug. 13, 2011, death of 45-year-old Shannon Deval Watkins. Crystal Larcade pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge last week.
Watkins' body was found with a trash bag on his head, a noose around his neck and he'd been stabbed.
Prosecutors say the Larcades kidnapped Watkins from Oklahoma to collect a $1,000 bounty.
