Pike County man accused in brother's slaying

DELIGHT, Ark. (AP) - Pike County authorities say one man is dead and his brother has been charged in the slaying.

Sheriff's officials say they were called to a home in Delight to investigate a report Monday night that a man appeared to be dead.

Investigators found 53-year-old David Dowdle of Delight dead from a gunshot from a .22-caliber pistol.

The Texarkana Gazette reports ( ) that 46-year-old Danny Dowdle, also of Delight, told investigators that he intentionally shot his brother in the head.

After a Wednesday court appearance, Danny Dowdle was ordered held on $100,000 bond at the Pike County Jail in Murfreesboro.
