Playtex baby carriers recalled

Playtex is recalling about 305,000 baby carriers.

Families are being told to stop using the Playtex Hip Hammock immediately. Buckles on the waist and shoulder straps can crack or break, making it possible for a baby to fall out of the carrier.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 87 reports of buckles cracking or breaking. Two of those reports included injuries with one baby having to go to the emergency room for treatment.

All model numbers are being recalled.{} Model numbers 05300, 05301, 05302, 05306, 05307 and 05308 are sewn into the inside panel below the instructions for use.{}Both basic and deluxe styles are being recalled.

The baby carriers were sold at Burlington Coat Factory, Target, Walmart, and at baby and discount stores nationwide from June 2004 through December 2008. The basic model sold for about $40 and the deluxe model sold for about $60.
