Police: Arkansas teens found with stolen car, gun

      JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University police say they found six teenagers with a stolen vehicle and gun in a campus parking garage.

      KAIT-TV reports ( ) police say the teens were stopped in a stolen Kia Optima on Saturday. The officer says a bullet, a spent casing, knives and beer were found in the car. One teen told police they had discarded a gun.

      Police say that story changed after one teen's mother arrived. They say a teenager admitted that the gun was in a backpack and that it was stolen.

      Police charged one minor with theft of a vehicle and possession of a firearm. The five others were cited for minors in possession of alcohol.

      Police haven't released their names or ages. It's unclear if they are students.
