UPDATE: Victim of shooting near JFK and McCain identified

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Police are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead Wednesday evening. The victim has now been identified as Samantha Cass of North Little Rock.

According to North Little Rock police spokesperson Sergeant Brian Dedrick, Cass was traveling East on McCain near the intersection of JFK, when someone in a truck coming from the other direction fired multiple shots at her vehicle.

She was transported to UAMS where she later died.

The infant in the victim's vehicle was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital for evaluation. The child did not suffer any apparent injuries and is now with the father.

Police shut down that section of McCain after the incident; it is now open.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect. They're are looking for a F-150 or F-250, black or maroon, with a chrome bumper and rims, as well as an orange welding box in the back.
