Police searching for double shooting suspect considered "extremely dangerous"


Police are still searching today for a man they are calling "armed and extremely dangerous."Steven Hayes, 27, is wanted for shooting two men, killing one and wounding another near the intersection of 33rd St. and Elam St."Because of the nature of the way he committed his crime, he's considered to be extremely dangerous," Lt. Sidney Allen with the Little Rock Police Department said.Allen said an argument was the last for one Little Rock man, after he was shot and killed by Hayes Saturday."All three were at the same location outside talking during the course of that conversation it became more heated," Allen said. "Mr. Hayes then displayed a weapon and shot the first subject."Shoncoven Smith, 22, was killed.The second victim, a 16-year-old, was shot as he tried to get away, according to Allen, who said his injuries are not life threatening.Allen said a motive isn't clear but added drugs were found on Smith.Police don't know if Hayes is still in the area or even the state.If you have any information, contact the Little Rock Police Department.
