Prosecutor: trial tainted by state trooper testimony
The Pulaski County Prosecutor has filed a motion to vacate judgement and set aside conviction in a trial which used a former state trooper facing drug charges as a witness.
Devinn Sheppard is serving time on other convictions and last week was found guilty on several drug charges.
One of the witnesses in last week's trial was former Arkansas State Police Lieutenant, Sedrick Reed.
The motion states that failure to disclose that Reed was involved in a federal drug investigation tainted the conviction of Sheppard.
There won't be a retrial for Sheppard because double jeopardy prevents it.
