LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor's campaign says he's raised $1.5 million over the past three months in his increasingly expensive and heated fight for a third term in a nationally watched raise.
Pryor's campaign announced Friday that the Arkansas lawmaker said the second quarter fundraising means he's raised nearly $9 million since launching his re-election bid last year. The campaign did not say how much he has spent over the past three months.
Pryor was first elected in 2002 and is being challenged by freshman Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton. Cotton has not yet announced his fundraising for the second quarter.
The race is one of the most closely watched in the country, with outside groups on both sides spending millions on advertising in Arkansas.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
