Pulaski County Sheriff's Office warns of continued phone scam

(KATV) The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office received multiple calls Monday about a possible scam. In August 2013 and in February 2014, the caller went by the name, Lt. Brown. He reportedly targets elderly people and tells them a warrant is out for their arrest.

The sheriff's office does not have a Lt. Brown. This time, the person is going by the name, Officer Willis.

Other victims stated the scammer said he was with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office Warrants Division.{}

One victim purchased a $500 green dot card and sent it to California after receiving the scam phone call. The man lives in Little Rock; therefore, it is being investigated by the local police department.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says it does not operate in this manner. The department does not make this type of call and they don't accept credit or debit cards ever. Fines are paid to the court and bonds to bail bondsmen.{}

If you receive a call like this, do not respond financially in any way. If you have a question about a warrant, the number for the Warrants Division is 501-340-8450 and the main PCSO number is 501-340-6600.
