      Pulaski Tech millage vote fails

      LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - The special election held Tuesday to provide more money to Pulaski Technical College failed with 75 percent of voters disapproving of the measure.

      The ballot question asked voters to establish a "technical college district" for taxing purposes to provide funds to PTC. {}If approved, the taxing district would have authorized a tax levy not to exceed 1.9 mills. {}The money would have gone toward school infrastructure, including technology upgrades and building renovations. {}For a household worth $100,000 the tax would have cost $38 extra a year. {}

      With 100 percent of votes counted in the election, 10,236 voters opposed the new tax in comparison to 3,468 voters approving the measure.
