Razorback pitcher suspended after kidnapping arrest

FAYETTEVILLE (40/29 News) - Arkansas Head Baseball Coach Dave Van Horn suspended right-handed pitcher Thomas Altimont Friday after he was arrested on charges of kidnappingand domestic battery.

Altimont is a junior who transferred from McLennan Community College, accordingthe Arkansas Razorbacks website.

Van Horn released this statement:

"Thomas Altimont has been suspended indefinitely from our team, effectivelyimmediately. We will take the time to review the matter thoroughly and make anyfurther determinations next week.

"We have high standards for ourstudent-athletes and they will conduct themselves appropriately. We stressaccountability in the University of Arkansas baseball program and endangeringthe safety of others and other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated."
