Rent Refunded

We have a happy ending tonight from our Seven-On-Your-Side department.

Two days ago a Little Rock property owner asked for a little time to get to the bottom of a situation involving one of his rental homes.

He didand Cora Hair is very thankful.

When Cora started this week she was down on money, down on where she was living, and down on her luck.

By the end of the week things will have totally turned around.

On Tuesday Cora told us a sad story about how last year she paid money down and a first month's rent towards a Little Rock houseonly to never live in it.

The man who rented it to her promised a refund that never materialized.

And then he couldn't be found.

But we tracked down the owner of the property.

"I talked to the owner of the property this morning and he wanted to get you your money back and he'll worry about getting it back from his guy. So here is $850 that you paid to live in a house that you never lived in."

"Oh.thank you so much Jason," replied Cora.

Cora says she will use the money to help her move into a new rent house she has foundowned she says by a great landlord.

It is a major change from where she started the week.

"I just want to thank you very muchme and my four children," said Cora. "And I am just so blessed. Thank you."

"You're welcome. Glad to help."

"Say thanks Mariah" (Cora's daughter Mariah says her version of 'Thanks')

"You're welcome."

Cora's family will be spending the next few days moving into her new home. She has learned just like landlords need to research renters, renters need to ask questions about landlords too.
