JONESBORO (AP) - Arkansas State Police say a report on a Craighead County deputy's shooting of a man near Jonesboro has been turned over to the prosecuting attorney's office.
ASP Lt. Brant Tosh told our ABC station on Jonesboro, KAIT, that the file on the March 23 shooting of Steven Honeycutt by Deputy Brandon Womack was given to Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington. Authorities say Honeycutt was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm.
Authorities say Womack shot Honeycutt following a traffic stop and is on paid leave - but other details have not been released - including why Womack stopped Honeycutt.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
