Rescue dogs turn to show dogs

Little Rock (KATV) - Before any headliners took the stage on Saturday, another group of trained professionals stole the crowd. World famous canine athletes showed festival goers what they can do on four legs. The Super Retriever Series held a regional qualifier near the Clinton Center on Saturday. Another group of trick dogs took the stage under the training of Jonathan Offi. Offi brought 13 rescued pit bulls from across the county to Riverfest this year. Each one of his world famous dogs are trained for two years before they compete. Offi says once that competition day comes; it's like seeing one of your own kids all grown up. "It's the best feeling in the world to bring a dog's capabilities out and not only showcase their athleticism but also create an activity they enjoy more than anything," says Offi. Jonathan Offi and his incredible rescue dogs will be near the Clinton Center at Riverfest on Sunday at 1:30, 3:30, and 5:30. Full a full list of activities at Riverfest, click on the following link.
