Ross, Hutchinson head to Pine Bluff to talk jobs

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas gubernatorial candidates Asa Hutchinson and Mike Ross have trips planned to Pine Bluff on Wednesday to discuss the effort to increase the number of jobs in the area.

The Delta Regional Authority is hosting business and education leaders as it unveils new training programs. Ross will visit with the group in the morning and Hutchinson will visit with them in the afternoon.

A recent report commissioned by the Delta Regional Authority called for merging programs that combine education and job skills, finding new ways to learn and increasing the standard of living in the Delta.

Among Arkansas cities, Pine Bluff has often had one of the highest unemployment rates.
