Ark. officers to use saliva screen to test for drugs and alcohol

Officers will have a new tool to help them identify folks under the influence.
Starting in July, Arkansas law enforcement can use a saliva test to screen for alcohol or drugs in a person's system.
The method is popular in Europe and is now approved in more than half a dozen other states.
Officers can use the test on a person who has failed a field sobriety test.
The saliva kits screen for a dozen different kinds of drugs plus alcohol.
