Searcy Man Charged with Second Home Invasion

(KATV, Source: Searcy PD) On Thursday, January 23, John Miles, was charged with asecond home invasion after it was determined that he forced his way into asecond home in three days.

On January 16, officer with the Searcy Police Departmentwere called to the 500 block of Joyce Street for a call of an unknown manforcing his way into a home while the homeowner was inside.{} The victim told police that she heard a knockat the door, when she opened the door a masked man forced his way past thevictim. The victim stated that the suspect had a pistol. The victim was able toexit the house and run to a neighbor's residence and call 911.{} The suspect fled the scene prior to officersarriving.

Three days later, on January 19, officers were called to asecond house at the 500 block of Joyce for another home invasion.{} Police were told that an unknown person wasinside the residence with a victim also in the residence.{} When officers arrived, they found Milesinside the residence.

Miles, 29 of Searcy is currently being detained at the WhiteCounty Law Enforcement Center on charges of Residential Burglary, AggravatedResidential Burglary, and Theft of Property. Miles has a bond of $60,000 and acourt date of March 4.
