Second suspect in ASU player homicide arrested

JACKSON, Tenon. - Police have arrested second suspect in the murder of Arkansas State University football player Markel Owens.

According to KATV affiliate KAIT, U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force and Riley police arrested 19-year-old Johnny Wade at a home in Riley, Tennessee.

Johnny Wade joined Derrick Wade in a Madison County, Tennessee jail. The two are accused of murdering Owens, along with his step-father Wednesday evening in a home invasion.

Both suspects are charged with two counts of felony murder, especially aggravated robbery, attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.{}

The suspects are expected to make their first court appearances on Tuesday.{}
