Sections of I-30 and I-430 to go down to one lane

(KATV)-Commuters could be sitting in one lane of traffic beginning tonight on Interstates 30 and Interstates 430. The closures go from 8 p.m. and last until 7 a.m. the next morning. But a spokesperson the highway department says don't worry about the morning commute into Little Rock from Saline County. "This is tricky because school has started, the commute starts early coming in from saline county, but the good news here is, it's not going to affect who are going into work in the morning. Because we're only modifying the lanes west bound on I30 and southbound on I430. Those are the opposite lanes that fill up with traffic on the morning commute," Danny Straessle of the Arkansas Highway Department. The lane closure will be only on I30 West, traveling from Little Rock, toward Saline County. The single lane will go from Baseline Road all the way to the I30/I430 interchange. The closure on I430 will affect travelers only on 430 south. The single lane will go from Stagecoach Road, all the way to the I30/I430 interchange. The closures are because the highway department is moving the Otter Creek exits to help the flow of traffic. On I-30, the Otter Creek exit will moved from west of the interchange to east of the interchange. "Any time you take traffic from 3 lanes to one lane, you're going to have the merge process involved. That takes some getting used to," said Straessle.{}

These are the times the interstates will go down to one lane:

I-30 West (From Baseline Road (Exit 130) to the I-30/I-430 Interchange) Tuesday 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Thursday 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. I-430 South Tuesday {}8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (I-430/I-30 Interchange to Stagecoach Road) Wednesday 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (North of Stagecoach Road)
