TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - City leaders in Texarkana have approved a $162,000 settlement for former City Manager Harold Boldt.
The city's Board of Directors approved the settlement Monday by a 5-2 vote.
Boldt left his job as city manager in March as part of an agreement with the city's Board of Directors. The Arkansas Ethics Commission cleared Boldt of violating state ethics laws after a Texarkana resident filed a complaint regarding Boldt's involvement in a planned convention center, hotel and water park.
Mayor Wayne Smith tells the Texarkana Gazette (http://bit.ly/11dcsAc ) that the city will pay the settlement from some savings the city has in general funds. The settlement would cover almost one year's pay plus accrued and unused paid leave.
