LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Due to heavy rainfall, the Army Corps of Engineers has issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River downstream of Russellville.
According to officials, recent heavy rains have caused flows to rise, which threatens the safety of pleasure craft.
The Corps issues small craft advisories when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. Flows at Dardanelle Lock and Dam at Russellville are about 100,000 c.f.s. Flows at Murray Lock and Dam at Little Rock are about 95,000 c.f.s. Flows at Emmett Sanders Lock and Dam at Pine Bluff are about 100,000 c.f.s.
