Smart homes on the rise

Smart homes are on the rise around the world.
About 90 million homes will be automated by 2017, according to some researchers.
One Little Rock family is already living in a smart home and gave Channel 7 a look inside.
Hannah and Gordon Driskill use the technology to monitor pets, security, and nearly every aspect of their home, all from their phones.
"I can be out of town and know the fact that I can look on the camera and know that everything is okay in my house," Gordon Driskill said. "Just because the alarm says it's okay, I still like to have the visual aspect of it."
The Driskills can even adjust temperature settings and control lights with their phones.
