Snow, Ice Predicted for Northern Portions of State

Our team of Channel 7 Meteorologists say a quick moving storm system will bring heavy snow amounts to northwest Arkansas. The Ozarks could see 4-6'' of snow by late Thursday while central areas could see 1-2''.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Washington, Madison, Benton and Carroll counties for 6 p.m. Wednesday through 6 p.m. Thursday. A wintry mix of precipitation is expected to move into the state, bringing freezing rain and sleet that will likely transition to all snow.

Further south, sleet and freezing rain is predicted for Thursday morning, along with up to 2 inches of snow in areas north of Waldron, Little Rock and Clarendon.
