LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is launching a support group for teenage victims of dating violence.
The medical school said Monday that the group is for teens 16 and older who have experienced violence while on a date. The group meets at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at UAMS' Psychiatric Research Institute.
The group is open to teen victims of emotional, physical or sexual violence by a date, partner or spouse.
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. UAMS is taking part in a national effort to draw attention to the abuse of teens and young adults in relationships.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
