Suspect arrested after I-30, Target hit-and-runs
BRYANT (KATV) — Police say a man has been arrested after fleeing the scene of an accident on Interstate 30 and then hitting a pedestrian in a store parking lot. Marcus Dorsey, 39, was arrested by Arkansas State Police (ASP) on Boone Road. Police say it all began at approximately 1 p.m. when the pickup truck Dorsey was driving hit two vehicles on I-30. He fled the scene, taking the Alcoa exit and driving across the Target parking lot. That is where witnesses say he struck a 20-year-old woman walking up to the store. Police say the young woman was seriously injured after she was dragged approximately 70 feet across the parking lot. She was airlifted to a local hospital. Her condition has not been released.A Target employee who witnessed the parking lot hit-and-run says he got into his car, called 911, and followed Dorsey.Dorsey was arrested by ASP troopers a short time later. He was surrendered to Bryant police who are investigating the pedestrian hit-and-run. Dorsey is charged with First Degree Battery and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury. Bryant police say more charges may be filed.Arkansas State Police say no one was injured in the I-30 hit-and-run incident.
