The State of Preschool 2012 study released

(KATV) States across the nationare spending less per child on preschool programs but Arkansas is bucking thattrend.

A report by the National Institutefor Early Education Research at Rutgers University says while state funding forsuch programs had its largest drop ever last year, Arkansas spending increasedby more than $200 dollars.

In 2012, the state ranked11th in enrollment and 10th in funding. The report praised Arkansas sayinghigh-quality programs put our state among the top ten for quality.

Arkansas Spending:

2011: $5,182

2012: $5,409

Ranked 11th in enrollmentand 10th in funding.
