UPDATE: Third suspect arrested in NLR robbery-homicide

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Overnight Saturday, police arrested 20-year-old Machlin Rogers in connection with last Saturday's homicide at an EZ Mart convenience store on MacArthur Drive.

Sgt. Brian Dedrick of North Little Rock police said in a press release officers found Rogers in Jacksonville shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Jacobi Robinson, 20, was arrested Friday after a joint investigation by North Little Rock and Jacksonville officers. He was found at his home in Jacksonville and taken into custody without struggle.

Surveillance video showed three suspects involved in the robbery-homicide on Saturday, September 22. Police said after robbing the store in the 3600 block of MacArthur, one suspect walked back in and shot 29-year old Akiya Egeston, killing her instantly.

Investigators said in a press release Robinson confessed that he was involved and was the one who shot the clerk. He has been charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery.

Davion Howard, 19, was also arrested Friday on capital murder and aggravated robbery charges. He was found in Texarkana but extradited back to North Little Rock. Howard has also been connected to an aggravated robbery in Jacksonville on September 21. Investigators obtained a warrant for him in that incident.
