Three Benton men charged with attempted capital murder

BENTON (KATV) - Three Benton men were arrested Sunday, accused of trying to kill a man early that morning.

In a press release, police said 21-year-old Jonathan Edgin, 21-year-old Kevin Hensley and 20-year-old Cornelius Wilson broke into the victim's home around 4:00 a.m., started fighting with him and then shot him in the side. The trio have a history of conflict with the victim, though nothing violent before Sunday.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was treated at a local hospital. He is expected to be okay.

All three were charged with criminal attempt capital murder, aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault, 2nd degree battery, 3rd degree battery and criminal mischief.

Hensley and Edgin were also charged with unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate a crime.

All three men are being held in the Saline County Detention Facility. Police are still looking into this case and say more arrests could be made soon.
