Three Lonoke County men arrested on drug charges
CABOT (KATV) - A tip led to the arrest of three Lonoke County men on drug charges.
A Lonoke County deputy and Ward police officer went to a home on Ballard Road in Cabot Thursday after a tip about possible drug activity and stolen property being kept there. They reportedly saw 42-year-old Derek Weir walking behind the house to the home next door.
They called Weir's probation officer then found Weir inside the other home. They reportedly also found 25-year-old Justin Bates asleep in an upstairs bedroom and 32-year-old John Thomas Ballew hiding in a closet. Bates was also out on probation and both he and Ballew had unrelated outstanding arrest warrants.
Authorities said they found seven grams of meth, a small amount of marijuana, several firearms and drug-related paraphernalia around the home. All three men were arrested on charges of maintaining a drug premise, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of firearms.
All three are being held at the Lonoke County Detention Facility in lieu of bond.
