Three people escape from Faulkner County Detention Center

FAULKNER COUNTY (KATV) - Three inmates escaped from the Faulkner County Detention Center Saturday afternoon and they're still on the loose.

Authorities have expanded their search to surrounding counties.

Chief Deputy Matt Rice tells us the trio cut the recreation yard fence, and they're believed to have jumped a second fence. Authorities told Channel 7 that they then found a white Chevy Lumina with keys inside and took off in it.

"We have teams out right now trying to locate these folks. please do not help these people," said Rice.

Sheriff Andy Shock says the escape was the direct result of staff not paying attention. He says there are policies in place that would have kept this from happening.
