WILLIFORD (AP) - Authorities say more than two dozen train cars came off the track in a derailment in northeast Arkansas early Wednesday.
Sheriff Mark Counts says the derailment was called in by a Burlington Northern Railroad dispatcher shortly before 2:30 a.m. The sheriff tells our ABC station in Jonesboro, KAIT, that the derailment happened near Williford on Arkansas 58.
Counts says 28 or 29 cars came off the track, including two that were carrying hazardous materials. The sheriff says there is no leakage from either of the hazmat cars.
No injuries have been reported. Crews are still investigating what caused the derailment.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
