Trial dates set for woman charged in mountain death

YELL COUNTY (KATV) — Trial dates are set for the Yell County woman charged in the death of her 10-month-old son, after the boy and her husband were found dead in the Ouachita Mountains.According to investigators, Brooke Floyd, 21, and her husband Brian took their son into the mountains near Blue Mountain Lake while having drug-induced hallucinations about being chased.Floyd was found in a ditch in the area and said she was separated from her husband and son in the treacherous terrain.Authorities searched a wooded area south of Blue Mountain Lake, eventually finding Brian Floyd's truck, and then the bodies of the pair a short distance from the truck on July 29.Floyd pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges. Her trial is set for Oct. 6.She was originally charged with child endangerment and hindering apprehension or prosecution.
