Truck driver killed in south Arkansas crash

STRONG (AP) - Authorities say a Louisiana man is dead after crashing his tractor-trailer in south Arkansas.

Arkansas State Police say the crash happened Monday on U.S. 82 near Strong in Union County. According to a preliminary report, 48-year-old Herbert Loyd of Downsville, La., crossed the center line of the highway, drove into a ditch and struck a tree.

State police say Loyd was ejected from his truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union County coroner.
