U of A pitcher booted from team after arrest

FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - University of Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn has kicked pitcher Thomas Altimont off the team following Altimont's arrest for kidnapping and assault.

Van Horn announced the move Monday in a news release.

Altimont was arrested Friday morning on allegations that he held a woman against her will and assaulted her. Police say Altimont was arrested by officers responding to a domestic disturbance call.

Altimont is a junior right-hander who transferred to UA from McClennan Community College.

He was 1-0 in five appearances this season.
