UAM planning a $9 million dollar renovation
(KATV, Source: UAM) The University of Arkansas at Monticelloopened in 1909 and it is the smallest of the UA campuses.
According to a UAM press release, $9,000,000in bonds has been approved for upcoming renovations to the Bankston andHorsfall Hall dormitories on the UAM campus.
Thelegacy of the school can still be seen in the buildings and dorms. Everysemester, HorsfallHall at the University of Arkansas at Monticello is home to about 124 female students.Bankston Hall houses about 248 male students. Both dorms have been in need ofrepair. The improvements are expected to be finished by the fall of2013.
Students tell Channel Seven they'reexcited the community restroom will be done away with. The buildings will getnew roofs, have a more modern look, energy efficient and allow students to havemore personal space.
