UAPB studying nursing baccalaureate program
PINE BLUFF (AP) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is taking steps toward redeveloping a baccalaureate program in nursing.
The university is to conduct a feasibility study and the Arkansas State Nursing Board is to conduct an on-site survey. The board would have to approve the program, as would University of Arkansas Trustees and the state Higher Education Coordinating Board.
In 2010, UAPB's nursing program was suspended, which led to the school being barred from accepting new students.
Interim Chancellor Calvin Johnson says the school is committed to offering the nursing baccalaureate.
The school's website notes that the university's nursing program is still inactive.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
