UCA lifts suspension of linebacker Justin Heard

CONWAY (AP) - The University of Central Arkansas says linebacker Justin Heard is being reinstated to the football team after a three-game suspension.

Heard was suspended for violating an NCAA rule regarding his book scholarship. Heard has said he bought books for his brother and didn't know he was breaking the rule.

Head coach Clint Conque said Heard was forthright, has made restitution and learned from his mistake.

Heard can return to practice this week and will be eligible to play again on Oct. 19 when the Bears travel to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
