Unsolved murder case revisited as anniversary approaches

Sunday will mark the grim anniversary of an unsolved Little Rock murder. Witnesses describe an ambush, that took the life of a college student in the early morning hours of September 7th, 2013.

Stephen Morrison pulled his red Ford mustang up to an apartment complex at 7414 Mabelvale Pike, just west of University Avenue. Before he could get inside, witnesses say a black man wearing a hoodie emerged, and fired several shots at him. Morrison was found lying on the ground, in a pool of blood. His father, recalls speaking to Stephen the day he was killed. "We was talking about going fishing tomorrow. The next day which didn't happen. All of a sudden we get this phone call at 4:30 in the morning that my son was involved in a shooting," said Katz Morrsion.

Police have since learned Stephen was involved in an altercation with several men at Elevations, a Little Rock night club. One of them had threatened to kill him.

"We was real close. I just wish many times that this dream, I could wake up out of it. But it's reality and it's a devastating thing. Every day, it's like I'm re-living this," said Morrison.

What makes it even tougher on his father, is knowing he was going to become a father in January.

"Not only did they rob my son of his life, they also robbed me of my child, and also robbed his daughter of a father," he said.
