FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn says he plans to allocate more scholarship money for offense in the wake of an earlier-than-expected exit from the NCAA tournament.
The Razorbacks (39-22) began the season as the top-ranked team in the country, but an inconsistent offense hurt the team. Arkansas' season came to an end with a loss to Kansas State in the Manhattan Regional, a trip that marked the school's 11th tournament berth in as many seasons under Van Horn.
The Razorbacks posted a 1.89 team ERA this season, tops in the country, but they were 190th with an average of 4.9 runs scored per game.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
