VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Patricia Hemphill has been named as the deputy for programs and project management, the highest civilian position within the Vicksburg District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Hemphill will serve as the senior adviser to the district commander.
The Vicksburg District says in a news release that Hemphill will plan the civil works programs and operations and maintenance projects covering the District's 68,000 square miles in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
She previously served as the assistant to the DPM and led long-range planning and management of the civil works programs and operations and maintenance projects.
Hemphill is a native of Vicksburg and is a graduate of Warren Central High School.
