UPDATE: Weather radio transmitters in east Arkansas repaired

All radio transmitters based out of the National Weather Service in Memphis are now fixed.

Andy Sniezak with the NWS says a hardware failure caused the transmitters to go offline early Tuesday but crews restored the service. The NWS in Memphis serves east Arkansas, north Mississippi, west Tennessee and the Missouri bootheel.

Weather forecasts predict a chance of severe weather Tuesday across much of Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and west Tennessee.
