BRINKLEY, Ark. (AP) - Delays are expected on parts of Interstate 40 as westbound traffic is reduced to one lane on a nearly 4-mile stretch in eastern Arkansas while crews perform construction work.
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says the closure will begin Tuesday and will last about a month, weather permitting. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane between Bayou DeView and the Cache River, or mile markers 205 to 210, as crews reconstruct 3.8 miles of the interstate.
Traffic will be controlled using barrels, a barrier wall and warning signs.
Eastbound drivers will still have two lanes.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
