White County inmate pronounced dead at hospital
SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say an inmate at the White County jail has died after he was found unresponsive in his cell.
The Daily Citizen reports (http://is.gd/G3Hq1O) that 31-year-old Erik Scritchfield of Bald Knob was found unresponsive at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Authorities say Scritchfield was housed in a single medical cell because he'd been suffering from flu-like symptoms.
Scritchfield was taken to the White County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Saturday morning.
Scritchfield's cause of death remains under investigation. Authorities say he was booked in the county jail on Friday afternoon on a felony probation violation.
