As a special treat this year, guests will be able to enjoy Christmas décor at the Arkansas State Capital at 500 Woodlane Avenue, during Holiday Tour of Homes hours. The Arkansas State Capitol is at its most beautiful during the Christmas season. Visitors will be delighted by the Capitol's magnificent Christmas exhibit, which features the return of intricate creations made of Lego blocks. The collection, on loan from Thomas Mears and family of Bauxite, will be on display through December. Standing above it all is the grand Rotunda Christmas Tree, which, at more than 22-feet, reaches through to the second floor. Guests are asked to enter the State Capitol through the tunnel on the East side of the building. (The public is not required to purchase a Holiday Tour of Homes ticket to visit the Capitol Rotunda.)
An exclusive Holiday Private Preview Party on December 7th from 7pm-9pm at the Hargis home at 40 Valley Club Circle in Pleasant Valley begins Wildwood's holiday celebration. The Hargis home, designed by Chris Olsen of Botanica Gardens, will be showcased only during the preview party; this home is not included during the Holiday Tour on December 8th. Tickets for the Private Preview Party are $75 in advance and include an intimate evening of beverages, hors d'oeuvres and live entertainment, as well as Saturday's Designer Breakfast and Tour of Homes.
The Holiday Designer Breakfast at the Park is a new addition to Wildwood's Holiday Tour of Homes. Interior Designers Tom Chandler of Chandler & Associates, Tammy Copeland of Silks A Bloom, and event co-chair Chris Olsen of Botanica Gardens will present holiday décor ideas Breakfast chairs Martha Galek and Mary Wildgen are hosting the seated holiday breakfast buffet, which includes mimosa, a grits bar and even a chocolate fountain, from 9-10:30am on December 8th. This hearty and fun-filled start to the day of holiday touring is $50 and includes admission to the Holiday Tour of Homes.
Saturday's Holiday Tour of Homes is $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the Tour. Guests for Saturday's splendid Christmas tour may travel to five beautiful homes as well as the State Capitol.
