Snow is falling in western Arkansas as a winter storm makes its way across the state.
The National Weather Service says Sevier and Howard counties have received 2 inches of snow, while about an inch had fallen Monday morning in parts of northwest Arkansas.
But meteorologist Sean Clark says in many areas, the radar looks worse than it is - much of the precipitation isn't making it to the ground. Clark says the Little Rock area should see some snow between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. that'll last a few hours before turning to a mix of rain and freezing rain.
Clark says the Ouachita and Ozark mountain valley areas are expected to see the most snow.
In northwest Arkansas, up to 3 inches of snow is predicted.Copyright 2012 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
