LITTLE ROCK (KATV)--Many people are enjoying a day off on this Labor Day, but for the Gunn Family it was not a day off, they welcomed their first born.
Natalie Gunn was in labor on Labor Day!
"She was due August 23rd, so she's a week latea little over a week late, we were surprised that she was going to be in September," said Gunn.
Weighing in at 7 lbs 14 oz, Reese Ryan was the first baby born on Labor Day at Baptist Health. Gunn, who works at Chicot Elementary, said her co-workers even teased her.
"It was just a joke, just like you're literally going to have a baby on Labor Day and it happened, we didn't expect it to happen but it did," added Gunn.
Reese is the Gunn Family's first child; she's also the first grandchild on both sides of the family.
"She'll have a fun birthday, we like to go on the lake on Labor Day weekends, so it will be fun," said Gunn.
"Guess maybe it will be kind of a joke because we thought it was going to be August, and we have stuff that says she'll be here in August, but now it's SeptemberLabor Day!"
