Woman sentenced in infant's 2001 murder
INDIO, Calif. (AP) - An Indiana woman has been sentenced to 15 years to life in a California prison in the 2001 death of her 2-month-old daughter.
Krissy Lynn Werntz appeared Friday before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Harold Hopp after being convicted of second-degree murder earlier this year.
The body of her daughter, Montana, was found in an Arkansas storage unit in 2002.
Authorities determined she had died in Desert Hot Springs, California, in 2001.
Werntz's partner, Jason Michael Hann, was sentenced to death earlier this year for the death.
Police also found the remains of a 2-month-old baby boy in another storage unit in Arizona, where they had been hidden in 2000.
The 34-year-old Werntz was not charged in the boy's death but Hann was convicted of second-degree murder in that case.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
