WASHINGTON (KATV) - WWII Veterans from Arkansas took an honor flight from Little Rock on Saturday to see the World War Two Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Many of the veterans had never seen the memorial. Though groups of honor flights from earlier in the week from other states had to break down the barriers surrounding the outdoor memorial, the memorial was opened to the veterans when they arrived from Arkansas.
There were many Arkansas politicians, supporters and a motorcycle troop of veterans waiting for them to arrive and that group had already moved a barrier.
After seeing the memorial, the group flew back that night to a large crowd of supporters cheering them on at the Little Rock Airport.
